Liam O’Brien – Teddy Fisher Match Advocate

📍 Location: Monaghan & Cavan, Ireland

🎣 Fishing Journey

Growing up beside a lake with a father and grandfather who fished all their lives, it was only natural that Liam O’Brien would follow in their footsteps. Starting with float and waggler fishing as a junior, Liam later found his passion for feeder, pole, and whip fishing. With access to over 500 natural lakes between the counties of Monaghan and Cavan, he’s become a true expert in the art of fishing, particularly when it comes to large bags of fish. Whether it’s 40lb of roach or a 100lb of bream, Liam thrives on the challenge and excitement of a big haul. Tench fishing is also a favorite pursuit.

Over the years, Liam has been heavily involved in match fishing, running his own match club and organizing team competitions and 2-day festivals. His leadership and commitment to the angling community are evident in his long-standing presence in the sport. In addition, Liam introduced Bolands Groundbait to Ireland and the UK, helping the brand gain traction and working closely with David Watts, now the UK and Ireland wholesaler for Bolands.
